E-learning Day Art
Reflection:-
Throughout the whole PowerPoint slides, I was quite impressed and attracted to Salvador Dali’s art pieces. His art work was very daring and very creative. For that particular art work, Soft Construction with Boiled Beans: premonition of Civil War was my favourite. His art work was painted before the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War. And it was about a distorted man, whose hands and feet are hideously diseased. It made me really felt for the situation for the war. All of his paintings did a very well job of expressing what he really feels and think at that point of time. He did not hold back any emotions when he was painting it. And his drawing skills was detailed and very clear too. Nevertheless, he express his feelings and emotions through a painting so special and clear that people can understand and feel what he was trying to express. To me, I believe that he is a very good artist as he feel for everything and is able to transform it into a painting.

Bedok Green Secondary School
(Art – E-Learning Day 2008)

My favourite artist is Georgette Chan as all her paintings have a very realistic feel and an impressive 3-Dimensional view. These are shown description can be seen on the painting, The Forbidden City located in China.
I like Georgette Chan’s painting on The Forbidden City because I have once travelled to The Forbidden City located in China before and the feel is very similar or even better than what I personally see and feel in China.
Therefore, I concluded that Georgette Chan stands out among all the artists in the PowerPoint slides supplied by BGSS (Art) Department due to the exceptionally impressive painting that she paints.

"The Floating Market" Sa Ngad

Reflection : This painting is drawn by Sa-Ngad Pui-Ock, my favourite artist. He is my favourtite Southeast Asian artist as I think that his paintings are very real and it will lead me to think more about it. I will ask myself questions like "What is this picture is trying to say?", "What feelings does the artist show when painting it?", and "Why are the people looking sad/happy/angry?". Of all his other paintings, I like this one best because this shows what a floating market looks like, just across the river from central Bangkok, in the canals of Thonburi, and it tells me about the life there in Chiang Mai and how fortunate we are to be living in Singapore, which is such an advanced and clean & green country.

My favourite artist is Georgette Chen. I like local artists and I like her art works. It is very hard to find local artists and Georgette Chen is one of them. Her art works are mostly eastern styles and I like her style of drawing. Her art works look real especially her self-portrait. Her self-portrait look very real and seldom people would draw themselves. Her self-portrait has meaning in it. Her eyes are sharp which looks kind of strict. The shades make her face look outstanding. The lines do not look so obvious. The colours show where is the light shining. All her art works are so meaningful.

My favourite artist is DeDe Eri Supria because his drawings were very real and artistic. You can see this from his drawing 'Urban Class', 'Labyrinth III' and 'The Song Of The Three Street Sweepers'.He drew his self protrait in the Urban Class like it was real! I was almost tricked by him and till now, I still think that he was some sort of lying on his picture and pretending to be standing there in the picture. The toning is also very real, you can see it from the Labyrinth III, where the light shines, it is really very real, like it is a photograph instead of a drawing.

My favourite Southeast Asian artist is Lucia Hartini. Her paintings are very unique and beautiful. It was like forming some kind illusion to the person viewing the art. Her art pieces were not based on the true happenings in life. It was a kind of her own illusion and she managed to express it in her paintings that looked so real. Her drawings of the background are based on the nature of the world. Her drawing of the background caused the whole painting to look like paradise. There was the mountains, the clouds, the sun, etc. Her paintings were drawn with every single detail included. In her drawings, the colours made the whole painting to be so unique, so beautiful. On contrary, the painting was like a place where people dream to go. In my opinion, Lucia Martini’s painting is the best.

My Favorite Asian Artist

My favorite Asian artist is Georgette Chen. Her paintings are all very beautiful about the past and the ancient times. It makes people see how the olden days are like and all the people that she draws looks different and have great emotion showed in their faces. Her painting show how people in the past lived so that we can know how people in the past lived, how they work and what do they wear. She showed great details in her drawing and they all seemed so real. Unlike so other painters which have scary painting, in my opinion I think Georgette Chen has the best paintings.

My favourite Southeast Asian artist is Dede Eri Supria . I like his art pieces because all of his art looks very real . It will defnitely be nice if I can be able to draw like him . I like three pieces of work from him . They are 'Song of the three streetsweepers , 1994 .' , 'Between The Buses 1984.' and 'Clowns , 1992 ' Oil on canvas , 129 x 140cm . Though from the three , 'Clowns , 1992' is still the art I like most . Because the clowns in the art looks very real , the portrait on the whole looks very vintage .

My favourite southeast asian artist is Leiff Nelson. He drawn a picture of a beach. His drawing was a nature piece which make me feels relax and comfortable. But Leiff Nelsonalways draw by his feelings whether he is sad ,happy, angry, feeling down and so on.The artpiece that he draw a beach was remarkable using water colours on it. Usually he only uses light colours for his Artwork.

the artist i like the most has to be Georgette Chan.her paintings have that sort of asian flare in it and it has alot of details. It shows a different perspective of that object she paints. Like a rambutan maybe Just a rambutan to you but when georgette paints it, it is like, looking at it from a different angle. the way she sees a rambutan is toally different from the way you see it. it's like, it get you thinking like. "a rambutan can look so nice?"i like her painting of the forbidden city the most. It is so detailed even the water is!
